Iota Delta Chapter History

The Iota Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. emerged as the 401st Alpha undergraduate chapter, on the campus of Florida State University. Founded on this campus by twelve strong black men, known as the "Mystic Dozen", whom ignited the "Golden Birth" on April 5, 1974. Since then, Iota Delta has truly exemplified the ALPHA Motto of "Manly Deeds, Scholarship and Love for All Mankind" and is still proudly “holding up the light of Alpha ”. Men of Greatness will always gather under the name of Alpha. As one of the illustrious chapters of the renowned "Alpha South", IOTA DELTA has always stepped forward to shine the light of Alpha on its campus and in its community, during times of political unrest, social change fellowship, the brightness of Iota Delta's light shall always shine bright and be held high.
